Renault Sport Spider is a homage to successful racing and rally cars Renault has built, including World Championship winning the Alpine-Renault A110 and Le Mans winning the A422B. Those cars were the world beaters, yet remained French in sprit. It means that they were built with a serious intention, yet they were surrounded with gentle curves and pleasing shapes.
Renault Sport Spider was developed as a small-volume, niche automobile from the beginning. It started with the all-aluminium chassis with the most advanced welding technology. It combines lightness and rigidity. With the engine mounted in the rear, it has optimum handling charactrics. With the choice of Aeroscreen or windscreen version, the driver is never isolated from the enviorment. It was born to thrill even the most serious drivers.
